Some thresholds arrive not with silence, but with color—an eruption of change as undeniable as autumn itself. In this portrait, the figure stands at that edge, hair rising like a flame against the season. Around her, the park glows with leaves in every shade of departure and return, each branch burning toward its own letting go.
Inside her, a pitbull waits. Not menace, but mirror. Its gaze holds steady on the viewer, asking a question that does not need words: What do you carry into your becoming? The animal’s presence is not symbolic of power alone, but of loyalty, of the fierce companionship that steadies us when the world would rather look away.
This piece joins the series as another face of emergence—one that claims both multiplicity and belonging. In the blaze of change and the unflinching eyes of the animal, we are reminded: the landscapes inside us are as varied as the people who walk them, and all are worthy of being seen.
