Change is inevitable.
The natural world has always offered lessons in how to meet it. Waves teach us to watch, to feel the movement beneath the surface, and to recognize when it is time to move. Too soon, and we miss the wave. Too late, and it can carry us under.
Our ancestors understood this kind of attention. They watched the stars, animals, weather, water, and land, learning to recognize patterns and signals that helped them move through an ever-changing world. Observation was not simply appreciation. It was knowledge.
This painting is a reflection on that way of seeing. It asks what might happen if we paid closer attention to the changes moving toward us rather than resisting them.
Perhaps we cannot control the next wave. But we can learn to recognize its energy, meet it at the right moment, and allow it to carry us somewhere new.
