I don't think there is a day that goes by that I don't contemplate the global climate crisis we are heading into and how the effects of this are already showing up. The extreme weather events we've seen the past couple of years from sub-zero temperatures in most of the United States to more frequent and severe hurricane seasons. The run off from the Mississippi River creating a dead-zone in the Gulf where marine life can not survive. Glaciers melting leaving all of us vulnerable. And then there is the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Let's not let this be the human legacy.
It is time to reduce our consumption and to mitigate modern society toward a more sustainable way of living that takes each other and the natural world into consideration. Let this piece be a reminder that we are the Polar Bear.
