I am thrilled to share that I have been selected for an art residency in Mérida, Mexico, hosted at the historic Mansión Brocca. For three months, I’ll be fully immersed in the rich landscapes, culture, and history of the Yucatán Peninsula—a place where the past feels alive and the energy of the land carries stories waiting to be discovered.
Exploring Ancient Sites and Sacred Waters
During my time in Mérida, I’ll explore ancient sites such as Chichén Itzá, Uxmal, and Dzibilchaltún, and wander the sacred cenotes that have long been revered as portals between the human and natural worlds. These experiences will inform the new work I create, building on the themes I have been exploring in my watercolors: the connection between humans, the land, and the mystical energy that flows through both.
Learning from the Wisdom of the Maya
The Maya were an extraordinarily intelligent and advanced civilization whose knowledge of science, architecture, astronomy, and spiritual practices continues to shape how we understand the world. To learn from this lineage is both an honor and a source of inspiration. Their understanding of the rhythms of nature and the cosmos resonates deeply with the ideas I explore in my work—how landscapes, memory, and ritual intersect, and how these invisible threads shape our sense of belonging.
Creating a New Series of Watercolors
During the residency, I will create a new series of watercolor paintings inspired by the spiritual and mystical essence of the Yucatán. My work will explore how ancient places, hidden stories, and the natural environment hold wisdom and presence, acting as portals to connection with both ourselves and the broader world around us.
At the end of my residency, the work created in Mérida will be exhibited in the city before traveling to Flux Labs Gallery in Mexico City, giving a wider audience the chance to experience these explorations firsthand.

I invite you to follow along on this journey on my social pages—Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and Bluesky—where I’ll be sharing updates, behind-the-scenes insights, and the work as it unfolds. I am deeply grateful for this opportunity to expand my practice, and I look forward to sharing the adventure with you.
