I’ve been doing a lot of thinking on what it means to be a family. The interweaving of family genetics, traditions, customs, beliefs, fears, and trauma all given to us the moment we grace this world. I see a birth as the very end of a branch. The rest of the tree is all who have come before us. As we live our lives we determine which way our branch will move and grow or not grow. Shifting a belief or a family trauma honors your family tree by allowing it to grow and transform through you.
